Life In A Parallel Universe

Mary Matalin and David Gregory's exchange on Meet The Press, 19 February 2006:

MR. GREGORY: OK, but Mary, if that’s the case, first of all, you know, the vice president of the United States accidentally shot a man for the first time since Aaron Burr killed Alexander Hamilton. Much different circumstance, admittedly. And the vice president’s office doesn’t feel an obligation to disclose that to the American people directly. You do it through a ranch owner in Texas? It just—it just strikes me as odd.MS.

MATALIN: It strikes you as odd because you live in a parallel universe. It did not strike Americans as odd.
Hmm....

Under your guidance, Ms. Matalin, Vice President Cheney has managed to garner for himself a solid 29% approval rating among his fellow Americans.

Which begs the question, who exactly is it that is living in a parallel universe, the 71% of Americans polled that disapprove of the Vice President, or....

YOU?

Take your time, there's no 'right' answer to this question, except for the one that you have for yourself.

Good day, Madame.
